As summer comes to a close and Halloween approaches, I'm taking stock of the progress I've made with Zombie Complex and I'm looking ahead to some exciting new developments for my first novel and my short stories. In the next month or two, I hope to offer Zombie Complex on a variety of new reading platforms such as Kobo.
After Labor Day, the price of Zombie Complex will be increasing to $1.99 for Kindle and the exclusive KDP arrangement should end near the end of October. I've maintained the low price for a long time to attract new readers. I grew up buying used books for $1 a piece and enjoying the heck out of them. However, I will need to buy advertising and undertake more formal efforts at marketing to expand my reach.
If you haven't bought your own copy of Zombie Complex, I encourage you to buy it soon and beat the price hike!
If you are looking for free zombie short stories, free zombie flash fiction, and even zombie poems, you've come to the right zombie blog. This is an author blog for Alexander Z Pain. It provides zombie stories, and musings on fiction writing, the zombie genre, zombies, The Walking Dead, and more. #WorldsofPain

Zombie Complex is Underground Certified
As an independently published novel, Zombie Complex relies heavily on Amazon and GoodReads reviews and word-of-mouth from readers just like you. The biggest challenge is to get exposure for the book and gain readers one at a time. Reviews by book bloggers and enthusiast book reviewers can take that exposure to the next level. I'm glad to announce that the review site, Underground Book Reviews, has accepted Zombie Complex for review by their voracious readers and reviewers. I'm really looking forward to their reviews.

Zombie Complex tries the South of the Border Approach
Many of us in the southeastern United States remember long car trips down I-95 to Florida or up to the mid-atlantic states. At the time, the Carolinas were one of the most boring stretches of the trip. One break in the boredom was a stretch of interesting billboards for a commercial rest stop called "South of the Border" located in Dillon, S.C. They offered cheap hotels, putt-putt golf, places to eat, and fireworks stands.
The bright billboards beckoned to drivers, passengers, and annoying kids who would pester their parents until they stopped for at least a few minutes. Some of the signs had funny sayings and they all helped us count down the miles until South of the Border. In the era of cheap airfare and tiny TVs in minivans, the roadside attraction is a shell of its former self and the signs that caricature Mexico are more than a bit politically incorrect.
Zombie Complex: The Battle for Chattahoochee Run. Leaving the political incorrectness behind, I hope to catch reader eyes on Twitter with new South of the Border-inspired banners of my own. Enjoy!

Read "Dog Walk of the Apocalypse" for Free
Interested in a free read? This weekend from August 17th through August 19th, 2018, you can download my short story "Dog Walk of the Apocalypse" for free on Amazon. You can read it on your Kindle, Kindle App, or free Kindle Anywhere on your PC.
This short story literally was a lost chapter from my novel Zombie Complex. I went in a slightly different direction with the narrative of the novel but I liked what I had written. I went ahead and adapted it to a short story format so that I could share it with you. I really hope you enjoy it. If you do, I invite you to check out Zombie Complex.

I really appreciate everyone who took the time to read my new short story, Zombie Cage. I hope you found it an intense journey into the heart of a zombie apocalypse. It was fun to write and I hope fun to read. I hope some of you leave reviews on Amazon.com to provide me with some feedback and to attract even more readers.
If you liked the little taste of zombie action that you got in Zombie Cage, you'll love my novel, Zombie Complex. It chronicles the fight of a very realistic and diverse set of people caught up in a zombie apocalypse.

Read Zombie Cage for Free!
My new horror short story, Zombie Cage, is out now. It will drop you right into the center of a zombie horde with scientists and security personnel on a mission to collect zombie blood, zombie DNA, and even attach radio transmitters to track the movements of zombies. The team will be protected only with their firearms and the bars of a steel cage. If you like shark week, you'll love this short read. It's normally free for readers who subscribe to Kindle Unlimited and 99 cents for everyone else reading with Kindle. However, from August 1st through August 3rd, my short story will be free on Amazon to everyone! My only request is that you leave a review on Amazon. I'd love to know what you think of the story!
