Zombie Cinquain Poem: Tree to Tree

Leaves crunch
Twigs snap and crack
from tree to tree I run
to escape the moaning ones and
live on

Zombie Haiku: Summer Shuffle

Bloated and leaking
Preceded by awful smells
Zombies of summer

Zombie Cinquain Poem: Comebacks.

I punch.
He keeps coming.
I kick and he comes back.
He bites my arm, I die, and now
I'm back.

Zombie Haiku: Hold Your Nose

Summer smells rotten
The dead trudge through the city
roadkill on the move

Zombie Cinquain: Unstoppable

Nothing
can stop me now
I just keep walking and
eating and walking and eating
my lunch

Apocalyptic Haiku: All Comfort Gone

A silent AC
welcomes unrelenting heat
all comforts are gone

External Air Conditioning Units on an old brick Apartment Building

Perhaps one day, I'll create a book of zombie poetry, but in the meantime, I like these-

What's in the "Worlds of Pain" blog?

Thanks for visiting Worlds of Pain.  If you are a fan of the zombie genre, I think you'll find lots to read on this blog.  You'll find flash fiction, short stories, a longer 6-part serial short story, and even short poems (zombie haiku, zombie cinquains, and even goofy zombie limericks).

Ultimately, this is an author blog and I hope to gain your support as a reader.  I hope you'll be entertained--and perhaps shocked and horrified--by your visit and that you'll find yourself comfortable with my writing style, level of violence and gore, and story content.  I hope that you'll enjoy my novel and my short stories.  Your purchases and Amazon reviews help fuel my writing efforts and make it easier to carve out time away from the real word.

Zombie Limerick - Walking and Stalking

If ever you see a dead man who is walking
then you'll be glad that we spent this time talking
If you're without a handgun
very fast you should run
or forever the living you'll be stalking.

Zombie Haiku: Hiding

Spring in Atlanta
Chirping birds and green trees
inside we all hide

Zombie Cinquain Poem: Stop Eating!

Watch it!
Lay off the food!
No more cookies or snacks!
Outside is nothing but danger
and dead!

Zombie Haiku Series - Z at 30,000 Feet

The jet way was hot
We are all miserable
But some sweat too much

My knee is throbbing
with a five hour flight ahead
this will not be fun

After snack service
Some dude over the wing snarls
Now what's the problem?

He looks kind of sick!
What the hell is wrong with him?
Murmurs of a beast

Pandemonium!
What's all the yelling about?
Dude bit somebody!

Zombie Cinquain Poem - Keeping Pace

Are you
tired of walking?
I never get tired now.
I'll keep shuffling right behind you:
waiting.
